Grazie ai suoi due motori turbo-jet era in grado di raggiungere e superare mach 1.6. E’ stato impiegato, portando a termine numerose missioni, in zone operative caratterizzate da un elevato livello di complessità, tra cui i Balcani e l’Iraq.
